The Back Extension machine is used for isolation exercises that targets the lower-back muscles without straining other body parts like the back of the neck or spine for example.
The exercise requires that you bend at the waist and hips to lower the torso until the upper and lower body form a right angle. The extension is usually performed as a bodyweight exercise, using only the upper body for the load.
The machine is suitable for almost anyone from beginners to seasoned gym-goers as part of a strengthening program.
